June 30, 2026 by Magnum Electronics

3M PELTOR FL7000 Series Push-to-Talk (PTT) tactical headset adapters are now available for order. Engineered for mission-critical operations, the FL7000 series provides a rugged, non-powered, and compact dual PTT button design for allowing communications with multi-channel or two single-channel radios. The PTT can be secured using a rotatable clip, fixed clip, or zip tie.

5 & 10-Pin Connectivity Options

The FL7000 supports headsets with a 5-pin U-384/U downlead or 10-pin Nexus connector that enable power management from the radio. The ComTac VIII multi-comm headsets are available with either five pin ( MT14H418A-92) or ten pin (MT14H418A-109) connectors using a single downlead.

3M is now shipping both the 5-pin and 10-pin versions compatible with the L3Harris PRC-163 tactical radio for the military. The FL705-163-EUD12 is also shipping that includes a 12-pin EUD (end user device) for data communications. The roadmap also includes adapters for the PRC-152, PRC-152A, PRC-148C, TrellisWare TW-950, and Thales SYNAPS.

There is a new hardwired version (FL705-APX7000) for Motorola APX NEXT, APX 8000, APX 7000, APX 6000, APX 4000, APX 3000, APX 2000, APX 1000, APX 900, MOTOTRBO XPR 7000, and XPR 6000 series.

The FL705-APX7000 includes an auxiliary port for the optional SCU-FL114 detachable cable for Motorola APX N70 and MOTOTRBO R7 with the Mini-GCAI connector. Additional cables are expected to be available and will provide interoperability for law enforcement, SWAT, and SORT teams.
