Older Computers May Not Upgrade
Microsoft has announced the end of support for Windows 10 next October. The lack of security updates will significantly increase your vulnerability to cyberattacks and malware. It will also lead to compatibility issues with newer software and potential data loss risks.
Older laptops and tablets will not run Windows 11 if they don't meet the minimum system requirements:
Processor: The processor must be 1 GHz or faster with 2 or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor or System on a Chip (SoC). Supported processors include 8th-generation and newer Intel Core processors as well as AMD Ryzen 2000-series processors and newer.
Trusted Platform Module (TPM): The device must have TPM version 2.0.
Secure Boot: Secure Boot must be enabled in the BIOS.
Download the PC Health Check App
The easiest way to see if a device meets the requirements is to download the PC Health Check app. For detailed instructions and the app follow this link to Microsoft's support page. Below is a short video of a demo of PC Health Check.
