Motorola Account & Login Required

EID Access Blocked Message

Motorola MOTOTRBO DMR radio users who program their radios and maintain their own inventory are seeing the "Access Blocked" message when installing software entitlement ID’s. In the past, you could purchase an EID and easily install it with programming software. The process now requires you to obtain a Motorola Solutions account and login credentials. You can check if your login is active and register for an account at connect.motorolasolutions.com.

A six-digit one-time verification code will be sent to your registered email address for authentication. After successful login, use the Customer Programming Software (CPS), Radio Management, and/or Radio Central applications. When successful, you will receive the message below.

MSI Authentication Success

Authentication Fails If PC or IP Changes

Your authentication authorization will be valid for 18 hours, after which you will need to reauthenticate. The request using the programming software (CPS) must be from the same PC and network. If you change locations while programming you must reauthenticate. Logging into the licensing system portal is required only when a radio or application license EID needs to be registered, viewed or recovered.

It takes 1-2 weeks to obtain login credentials and programming software from Motorola. CPS is not included with the software entitlement and must be obtained separately. If you are not familiar with CPS or navigating through the Motorola portal, we recommend sending your radios to us.

We will install the EID for a flat fee plus shipping. Or, we can PMI the radio that includes installing the license, firmware update, battery test, and auto-tune to Motorola factory specifications. This is recommended if your radio has not had any preventive maintenance for the last 12 months.
